What products do you specialize in?
Most of the work I produce is custom hats for businesses that use them for promotion or resale. These could be embroidered, leather patch or 3-D embroidered caps. I also do embroidery on polos most often for businesses such as restaurants. For one off custom text hats or Ham Radio call sign hats I have an Etsy store.
What is your minimum order?
I am willing to do as low as 1 item. This may be a fairly expensive item if a complex embroidery design or not so expensive if a leather patch or simple text embroidered hat.

What is needed to get started with my embroidery project?
Custom embroidery is not like sending a file to a printer. To start with I need a good quality graphics file. A SVG file is best but even a high quality .png or .jpg will work. If you can also let me know the size you would like your design embroidered. A program needs to be created with stitching instructions for the machine. From there I will ask the questions.
What is the process once I send a file for embroidery?
Your design for embroidery will be reviewed. I will quote a cost if applicable for the creation of the stitching program. This is a one time fee and includes test stitching for your approval. To get started an invoice is normally send for this service and the work begins once paid. The invoice can be paid through a stripe link using a credit card. Once the file is ready I test stitch it and send you pictures for approval.
What is needed to have a leather patch hat made?
To start with having a leather patch hat produced I will need a quality .SVG or other good graphics file. This should be line art but two tones are possible.
How fast is your turnaround time?
A leather patch hat can be as quick as same or next day as can a simple embroidery project. Most projects that involve creating a stitch file and ordering merchandise take a little over a week if you are responsive.

What is 3-D embroidery?
3-D embroidery is a process of stitching from a specially created stitch file over a foam of high quality and consistency. The foam looks much like craft foam but is of higher quality. I use a special high density foam of 3-4mm. The stitch counts are very high on this type of embroidery. The excess foam is peeled away. It is a time consuming process but has a unique look. Not many designs are suitable for 3-D embroidery.
Tell me more about leather patch hats.
A leather patch is produced by custom cutting and engraving on real leather. The shape can be about any you like. I do use genuine leather and also seal it for additional protection. The patch is affixed to a hat by a permanent heat seal adhesive. You can see examples of some leather patches in my Etsy Shop as I make them for amateur radio callsign caps and other hats.
What if I am in a Ham Radio club and a group of us would like hats?
If you are in an Amateur radio club and as a group would like to place an order you do not need to work through the Etsy store. You may e-mail me directly and I will work with you more like a commercial client. There will need to be one source of payment and all hats / items will be shipped together.
What if I have an embroidery project other than hats or shirts?
You may e-mail me directly and I would like to know more about your project. I do a fair amount of odd requests. Making people happy is great fun :)
May I bring you an item to embroider or put a patch on?
Yes you may bring a hat, shirt or other item. However I am not responable if something happens and the item is destroyed. This is extremely rare and many shops will not stitch on your brought in items. I am happy to and this is often the best way to work if you only need a few items done and know what you have fits and you like it.

How many colors can my embroidery design be?
I prefer to work with a maximum of six colors as that is the number of thread spools my machines hold. I can however do more. I would need to know about your needs before saying if more than six colors is practical.
How long have you been a Ham Radio operator?
I have been into Amateur radio for over thirty years. I started the Etsy shop several years ago and really enjoy making custom, personalized items for the Ham Radio and GMRS community. A lot of people buy the hats or other items as gifts for their fellow hams or significant others .
